Welcome to Dough Re Mi, an artisan sourdough bakery founded by two friends, whose shared passion for baking brought them together. What began as home baking for family and friends in a cozy Dubai kitchen has blossomed into a vibrant bakery that celebrates the art of sourdough. Our bread is a symphony of flavors, marrying European baking traditions with the dynamic spirit of Dubai. Each loaf is crafted with care, using the finest ingredients, and fermented to perfection for a rich tangy taste. At Dough Re Mi, we believe in the beauty of simplicity and the joy of sharing freshly baked bread with our community.

We believe bread should tell a story. Every loaf is:

- Handcrafted: Shaped slowly over 48+ hours for depth of flavor.
- Pure: Only high quality flour, filtered water, and our wild starter – no commercial yeast.
- Musical: Named after melodies that inspire our bakers (like "Cacao Rhapsody" or "Amber Spice").
Our Philosophy
The origins of sourdough starter are believed to date back to ancient Egypt, around 3000 BC, where it was likely discovered accidentally when leftover dough was left out, allowing wild yeast and bacteria to ferment it. This process created a naturally leavened dough that produced a lighter, and arguably better-tasting, bread.

At Dough Re Mi, our wild starter has grown up under the Dubai sun. We celebrate this amazing city’s diversity by blending global techniques (like French lamination) with local touches (Emirati honey).
